Hydroswing® was called to task to provide a solution for Airbus in England. They were looking for a specific product for the Main Wing paint booth for their A380 Super Jumbo and wanted something that would be seated well enough to the floor that it would have the efficiency of a wall but the capabilities of door. We were able to manufacture a 57’ x 28’ (18m x 8.5m) door that immediately matched their needs and retro fit their existing Durr Paint Booth in only five days. The sealabilty of the door was so tight their reduction in electricity on extraction fan speed alone generated a return on investment (ROI) in six months.

Then the door will be bolted or welded in place per the protocols. Hydroswing Selected as the Provider of Hydraulic Doors for up to 200 Hangars at the San Diego Metropolitan Air Park (Brown Field)

Big News!  Hydroswing® North America, Inc., the world leader in single panel hydraulic door systems, is pleased to announce the company has been selected as the sole source of hangar doors for one of the most important aviation developments in the United States.

In 2013, the wheels went in motion when the San Diego City Council approved a redevelopment of Brown Field Municipal Airport in Otay Mesa, involving more than $1 billion in planned improvements over the next 20 years. Metropolitan Airpark, a four-phase commercial development, will cover 331 acres of the city-owned, 880-acre facility near the U.S.-Mexico border. This development is poised to become a major commercial hub for strategic business partnerships between the U.S. and Mexico.

Over the next five years, the San Diego Metropolitan Air Park (Brown Field) will see the development of up to 200 hangars and mixed use industrial structures. From the beginning, our standards have been the highest in the industry.  All Hydroswing® doors are fabricated in ISO 9001 facilities that adhere to the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 code requirements for welding of structural steel. Unlike other manufacturers, we understand the importance of working within specific codes and with vendors who boast an ISO certification. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the largest developer in the world of voluntary International Standards.  An independent and non-governmental membership organization at work in 165 countries, ISO began in London in 1946 with a goal to “facilitate the international coordination and unification of industrial standards.” Today, ISO has published over 19,500 International Standards covering almost all of manufacturing and technology.

 

 ISO 9001 is part of the ISO 9000 “family of quality management systems standards” designed to help manufacturers meet statutory and regulatory requirements related to a product.  A third party certification provides an “independent confirmation” that companies meet the requirements of ISO 9001. So what does the mean for Hydroswing® customers? It means we are confident in our selected vendors and we pass that quality to our end users.  The ISO 9001 facilities we work with have Quality Management Systems (QMS) in place and are stringently audited for welding and quality assurance. Introducing Hydraulic Doors for ISO Shipping Containers – A New Revolution in Hydraulics

ISO containers (also known as intermodal containers) are used to store and move materials and products efficiently and securely in the global containerized intermodal freight transport system. "Intermodal" indicates that the container can be moved from one mode of transport to another (from ship, to rail, to truck) without unloading and reloading the contents of the container. Lengths of containers vary from 8 to 56 feet (2.438 to 17.069 m) and heights from 8 feet (2.438 m) to 9 feet 6 inches (2.896 m). There are about 17 million intermodal containers in the world of varying types to suit different cargoes.

 

In recent years, ISO containers have started being used for countless applications outside of the shipping world. From architectural and commercial projects to mining and military facilities, a container that has “open sides” can make for endless usage possibilities. The fact that the Hydroswing® hydraulic door is pre hung in its very own load bearing frame, allowed the evolution and growing use of ISO shipping containers. The plug-and -play ISO DOOR™ simply locks on to side, ends (or links between sides or ends) of the ISO shipping container, utilizing the ISO tandemlok quick attach. This is the “missing link” for container shelter doors for mining and military operations as well as many other industries. It also allows instant re-purposing of the old shipping container. With the same single panel strength the Hydroswing® Door offers, the ISO DOOR™ made a quantum leap into ISO containers.
