Everything you need to know about Hydraulic Doors for Aviation, Agriculture, Industrial & Architectural use

How’s it Hanging... Hydroswing’s Detailed Mounting Protocols Show How it’s Done

Simple, strong, secure… that’s our motto at Hydroswing®. Whether it’s retrofit or a new build, we are dedicated to having the easiest and most efficient process in the industry. If you need a hydraulic door, not only will we customize it for your space, we make sure you know how it works. Our “Mounting Protocols” demonstrate to all door owners the intricate details of how the door can be hung. We offer illustrations of everything from product attachments and positions of the door for installation, to the anatomy of the Hydroswing® door and full descriptions of different types of headers.

Customization is one of our most important selling points so it’s critical that our customers know our “attach angle” can be made to mount our door to metal girders, concrete, block or wood buildings. Then the door will be bolted or welded in place per the protocols. (We don’t supply the headers or door pillars, but we do survey large doors and will engineer flanges to brace the existing door pillars and the Hydroswing® door jamb.)

Also key for most Hydroswing® door owners is “how” the door will be mounted. Our protocols detail three ways: Inside or Flush Mounting (where the door inside the building header and jamb making it flush with the face of the building), Outside Mounting (which is common in existing buildings and the door will fit against the face of the building) and Rear Mounting (this would connect the door to the rear of your building).

Whatever your questions, we have the answers and our downloadable protocols will guide the way. Simplicity, strength, ease of use and reduction in moving parts, plus use of cladding (which makes the door match the thermal characteristics of the building) are among the top reasons customers are making the switch to Hydroswing®. The sophistication of our single panel hydraulic door system is now part of everyday door use for facilities large and small across the U.S. and around the world. The Hydroswing® single panel door system is like no other. Through the implementation of the Hydroswing® we lead to new efficiencies in building and wall designs. Remember, if it doesn’t come from Hydroswing®, it’s not a Hydroswing®.

Hydroswing – Versatile by Design

Versatile is defined as “being capable of or adapted for many different uses.” Versatile can also be defined as Hydroswing®.  After years of research, innovation and progress, Hydroswing has swept the hydraulic door market. There is no limit to what we can do. The Hydroswing® door system adds strength where others cannot, adds reliability where others are unable, provides superior headroom, precision workmanship, strength and reliability when it counts. Our sizing selection offers options and versatility that other systems can’t and we hit the target 100% of the time.

The “Small” Hydroswing®

Our “small” Hydroswing® hydraulic door is considered any door under 35 feet (10.66m) in width. Our small doors have been widely used for T-hangars, box hangars and at small airparks. Also ideal for storage of all kinds, including farms and ranches, or the residential user.  Think custom garage, shed, workshop, small feed storage, movable walls and more.

The “Medium” Hydroswing®

Our “medium” Hydroswing® hydraulic door is considered any door that measures 35 feet (10.66m) to 65 feet (19.81m).  Ideal for airplane or helicopter hangars, machine shops, grain and feed storage, biomass, and more.

The “Large” Hydroswing®

Our “large” Hydroswing® hydraulic door is considered any door that measures 65 feet (19.81m) to 95 feet (28.95m). We are true specialists in the large and extra-large and XXL door markets. This is our most popular door for commercial aviation and specialty use. Think all areas of industry including mining, agriculture and aviation.

The “Extra Large” Hydroswing®

Our “extra-large” Hydroswing® hydraulic door is considered any door that measures 95 feet (28.95m) to 119 feet (36.27m). We manufacture a hydraulic door that is strong, efficient and tested for quality assurance. The Hydroswing® is being used around the world on commercial buildings, commercial aviation hangars, specialty and other industrial uses.

The “XXL” Hydroswing®

Our “XXL” jumbo Hydroswing® hydraulic door is considered any door that measures over 120 feet (36.57m). It takes a specific knowledge to manufacture a door of this magnitude and we are proud to have these doors in use worldwide.

The Hydroswing® single panel hydraulic door system delivers on all criteria – strength, adaptability, seal-ability, wind loading, and expanded headroom. Size is never an issue for Hydroswing and we do it all with 70% less moving parts than a traditional bifold door. We boast a higher degree of safety since our doors have no rails or pulleys. Hydroswing® is also 100% more secure than fabric and has been tested to 200 mph in wind load testing. Our doors our manufactured to ISO 9001/ American Welding Society D1.1 standards.

Any size, any place…Hydroswing® is THE large door system of choice around the world.

Hydroswing Then and Now – Always Raising the Bar Higher

Hydraulics are always evolving. Hydroswing® is always evolving. Back in the day, operators turned a crank to raise and lower cable lift dump trucks.  Enter hydraulics and the dynamics of the dump truck are transformed.  A horizontal hydraulic ram and lever simplified and changed an entire industry. And so it is with the Hydroswing® single panel hydraulic door.  It won’t be long before slider, roller and bifold doors go by the way of the cable lift dump truck. Door systems have been transformed by the power of hydraulics: simple and reliable solutions for any and every door problem.

Hydroswing® was born in agriculture. Farmers needed easy, reliable doors for sheds, barns and production facilities.  They didn’t want to worry about pulleys, straps and broken parts. The early Hydroswing® doors were medium (comparatively speaking) in size, yet always extremely efficient, and farmers believed and trusted the fluid power and simplicity of hydraulics. Hydroswing® was on the move.

The DNA of the modern day Hydroswing® was built in agriculture but quickly evolved to include all sectors. With over 7,000 sold to date in aviation, agriculture, industry and architectural market sectors, the future holds endless possibilities.  Technological advancements and cutting edge design have made Hydroswing® the industry leader.  Today’s Hydroswing® single panel hydraulic door replaces almost all door systems with strength, efficiency, value, aesthetics, reduced maintenance and versatility.

Over the years, as budgets around the world became leaner and with higher sensitivity to re-use and maintenance, Hydroswing® found a way to produce the same high quality doors at a lower price. In all critical environments, less moving parts usually means greater ease of use, less cost of ownership, lower in life service costs, ease of local repair in the event of failure, simplicity of understanding and ease of replacement of old and unserviceable former doors.

The Hydroswing® single panel door system, like no other on the market paves the way to expand and grow in a market which is late to change and react.  By changing the way new and existing buildings function via implementation of the Hydroswing® it will lead to new efficiencies in building and wall designs.
